This Sunday, Super Bowl XLV will take over the house. For most, the stench of beer, buffalo wings, and sweaty socks will permeate the neighborhood. Although it is debatable that most women are abused around this time, here's some sure ways to avoid being tackled by the game.
Below are some Super Bowl basics that will keep you alive and in the game. You may even succeed in taking his eyes away from the screen for a moment to gaze at you in astonishment.
Know the Game
The Super Bowl is about football. This year the event goes by Super Bowl XLV because it is the 45th game. The object of the game is to get as many touchdowns as possible to win the game. A touchdown is when a team gets the ball into the opponent's scoring side called the end zone. The way to score is to run with the ball to the end zone and avoid being tackled. The team with the most score at the end of the 4th quarter wins the game.
You do not need to understand the entire jargon of football, but there are basics you should at least pretend to have thorough knowledge of, albeit, be careful not to be too pretentious - men can usually tell.
The Players
The teams playing are the Green Bay Packers (yellow helmets) and Pittsburgh Steelers (black helmets).
The main players are the quarterbacks, wide receivers, and the linebackers. The quarterback calls the plays and throws the balls to wide receivers. The linebacker's job is to the make the quarterback's lives miserable.

- Pass interference - (penalty) when the wide receiver is blocked from catching the ball
